The purpose of this educational activity is to provide a comprehensive review of anatomic fundamentals for electrophysiology procedures, and examine essentials of mapping and catheter ablation, and biophysics of ablation.
This activity has been designed for trainees currently in (or entering) electrophysiology and cardiology fellowship programs, current practicing electrophysiologists, cardiologists, nurses, physician assistants, and other associated allied healthcare professionals and physicians with a clinical interest in the management of cardiac arrhythmias.
Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:
- Review anatomic fundamentals for electrophysiology procedures.
- Examine strategies to prevent collateral damage to critical structures during electrophysiologic interventions.
- Evaluate fundamentals of mapping and catheter ablation.
- Assess the biophysics of Cryo and RF ablation.
This activity is designed to address the following ABMS/IOM competencies: Patient Care, Medical Knowledge, and Practice-Based Learning.
